The downtown Vancouver Art Gallery hosted FUSE, a successful second annual all-night art and music extravaganza on Friday night with live performances and DJs.

Hip-hop performers, Indonesian shadow puppetry, indie rockers and a multi-media lightshow entertained the crowds from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

Organizers aim to promote local artists, bands and thespians in the daring art and entertainment event in a city which has a reputation for being 'no fun.'

Hundreds of people turned up to see rappers, recording artists and video- and computer-generated multi-media graffiti shows, dance and mill around the event's lounge, and participate in a scavenger hunt.

The event drove visitors to see the gallery's current exhibit, KRAZY! The Delirious World of Anime, Comics, Video Games and Art, which runs through September 7th.

FUSE was created in July 2005 and drew nearly 3,000 people to the gallery at its event last year, according to Dana Sullivant, the Gallery's director of marketing and communications.
