As mailbox thefts continue around the region, Abbotsford police are calling on the public to help identify a vehicle believed to be linked to the crimes.

In Abbotsford’s McKee neighbourhood, mailboxes were seen being pulled off their foundations and loaded into the back of a truck just after 2 a.m. Jan. 11, police said in a statement Sunday.

The truck, a white or light coloured Ford, then fled the area.

“Abbotsford Police patrol officers are currently investigating and have recovered numerous dumped mailboxes in northern Abbotsford,” the statement said.

The update comes as police in Mission issue a call for help from the public for information on or witnesses of mailbox and mail thefts in their own community.

Abbotsford police are now, too, asking the public to report any suspicious activity in relation to the thefts, or the linked truck, to call the police on 604-859-5225.
