An ultralight plane with two people onboard crashed on Crescent Beach near South Surrey Sunday afternoon.
The plane landed upside down about 50 feet offshore around 2:15 p.m.
Police and fire crews responded quickly to the scene, accessing the crash from the 2400-block of Christopherson Road.
Both passengers were checked out by BC Ambulance and released at the scene.
One witness told CTV News it was the first flight for a student learning to fly with an instructor.
Police say the cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre and Transport Canada have been involved in the investigation.
