Two teenagers had been living at the house of a Mountie who became the subject of a Creep Catchers sting, a source told CTV News.
The 14-year-olds had been living in the Mountie's house as home-stay students, but a source said the girls were removed.
CTV News has confirmed the identity of a member of the Surrey RCMP who was "caught" in the sting last week, but will not be naming him as charges have not been laid.
The Surrey RCMP officer is the subject of a report to Crown counsel filed over the weekend. The document, called an information, was filed to the Criminal Justice Branch and alleges luring a child by means of telecommunication and breach of trust by a public officer.
The Crown counsel will now decide whether it will lay criminal charges.
Meanwhile the accused has been released with conditions that – except with certain specified exemptions – prohibit him from using the internet, contacting children under the age of 16 and attending facilities where anyone under that age may gather.
CTV visited the home of the man named in the allegations, but no one answered the door of his Port Moody residence. Neighbours have said that an RV usually parked in front of the driveway is no longer there.
The Mountie's tenant said he hadn't seen the homeowner in days.
But the tenant said he spotted people that he believed to be undercover police officers near the home. He also saw officers at the home on Thursday, the day after the Creep Catchers sting.
Creep Catchers livestreamed their encounter, alleging that the man in the video was an RCMP officer and that he believed he was meeting a teenager for sex.
Video of Wednesday’s sting showed Creep Catchers members surrounding a man outside the Boston Pizza at Surrey Central Mall.
The target immediately ran away and was able to escape, despite being chased by the 12-person Creep Catchers team.
