Rockslide closes Highway 1 in B.C.

A rockslide east of Vancouver has closed Highway 1 in both directions for 62 kilometres.

The slide, located 1 kilometre east of the Yale Tunnel, closed the highway from Avalanche Gate in Hope to Boston Bar on Friday evening.

Drivers are now being re-routed through a detour along Highway 5.

The highway is not expected to be open again until Saturday morning.
