As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wind their way around the streets of Vancouver, residents of the city may have a hard time getting around.
Prince William and his wife, Catherine, are expected to arrive in Vancouver at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, and depart from the city at 4:05 p.m.
"We're not expecting too many traffic disruptions, it is a Sunday, but the streets around the publicized locations will be busy with people wanting to catch a glimpse," Vancouver Police Sgt. Brian Montague said.
While the couple is in the Vancouver Harbour area, the roadway in front of 1000 Canada Place will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
At the same time, there will be either delays or closures along the seawall near the Vancouver Convention Centre.
From noon to 2 p.m., Whyte Avenue will be open to local traffic only, and will be closed to all traffic from 2 p.m. to 4:15.
Residents and visitors to the city can expect seawall closures or delays in the Vanier Park area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Public viewing areas will be set up in the areas of Jack Poole Plaza and the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station, but parking will be limited.
In addition to the Royals and Royal watchers, three cruise ships will dock and depart from the city on Sunday. Those in the downtown area should expect delays due to an increase in pedestrian traffic.
"We will have extra officers out, so give yourself lots of time to get down there. Understand that parking won't be easy. Consider public transit," Montague said.
There will also be temporary road closures throughout the day to make room for the Royal motorcade, but the details cannot be shared for security reasons.
