SURREY, B.C. -- Homicide investigators have released the name of the woman found dead in a park in Surrey, B.C., and they hope the person who dumped furniture in the park may have some vital information about the killing.
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Sgt. Jennifer Pound says Lisa Ann Zielke was living a high-risk lifestyle, was drug dependent and was a sex trade worker when she was last seen early on the evening of Oct. 30.
The body of the 41-year-old was found 17 hours later in Hi-Knoll Park, near the Surrey-Langley boundary, and several pieces of furniture, including a brown sofabed and a wooden table and chairs were found nearby.
Pound says the timeline suggests Zielke was in the park very close to the time the furniture was dumped and officers believe the person who left the items may have vital information about the case.
Investigators have also been canvassing various locations in Surrey to speak to sex trade workers and warn them to take extra precautions.
Pound has not said how Zielke died and although an autopsy has been completed, a final conclusion won't be made until toxicology results are received.
