YouTube video of a shocking road rage incident that saw two drivers pummel each other on a busy North Vancouver street is raising eyebrows online.

The footage depicts a younger and older driver exchanging blows and pushing each other onto the ground earlier this month on Main Street.

The younger driver had been weaving in and out of traffic before nearly rear-ending the older man’s car, according to the YouTube video description.

When traffic came to a stop, the young man allegedly got out of his car and started punching the other motorist through his door.

North Vancouver Mounties say they’re not investigating the incident because no one has filed a complaint.

Experts say the best way to respond to road rage incidents is to keep your cool, stay in your vehicle and avoid eye contact with drivers acting aggressively. If you’re being threatened, call 911.

Authorities always recommend being courteous on the road, but a 2011 ICBC survey suggests incidents of rude driving behaviour are on the rise.

Half of drivers surveyed said other motorists had become less courteous over the previous five years, reporting incidents of failing to signal, tailgaiting, getting cut off or honked at in anger.
