An Abbotsford man has been charged with hacking Carly Rae Jepsen’s phone and computer, and stealing photos after turning himself in to police Friday.
Vancouver police said Christopher David Long, 25, has been charged with fraudulently obtaining telecommunications services, unauthorized use of a computer, mischief to data, identity fraud and possession of stolen property.
Long has been released with conditions pending his next court appearance in January.
In March, Jepsen’s representatives contacted Vancouver police with a complaint of criminal harassment, unauthorized use of her computer and theft of telecommunications.
Police identified a suspect in the cyber hacking incident in July after fake online images and a phony sex tape were released online.
