The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team will spend the day in Richmond looking for clues that will lead them to a suspect in an attack that left a man dead.
RCMP were to a “suspicious incident” in the 8400-block of Steveston Highway between No. 3 and 4 roads just after 4:00 p.m. Monday.
A severely injured man was found on someone’s front lawn. Police won’t say whether the man was shot or stabbed but one neighbour told CTV News she thought heard two gunshot wounds a few hours before the gruesome discovery was made.
The victim’s name has not been released and police haven’t said if the incident is related to gangs or drugs.
"The information suggests that this could not be random and could have been targeted. But I can’t say yet,” said IHIT Sgt. Adam Macintosh.
Two lanes of Steveston Highway remained closed to traffic Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
