Dozens of firefighters were called in to battle a massive three-alarm fire at a large warehouse in Vancouver early Sunday morning.
The blaze started at 730 Terminal Avenue at around 6:00 a.m. at a two-storey warehouse that used to hold produce, but was vacant when the fire broke out.
“There was nothing in it except for some debris. It was uninhabited,” said Capt. Gabe Roder.
At one point 40 firefighters were battling the flames, which spread so rapidly they burnt through the roof, forcing crews to retreat outside of the building.
Roder said the flames are now under control, but firefighters are still battling spot fires.
Crews are bringing in heavy equipment and are in the process of demolishing the entire building.
The eastbound lane on Terminal Avenue will be closed off for the remainder of the day between Main Street and Clark Drive, according to the fire department.
No one was hurt in the fire and the cause is still being investigated.
