More than two dozen charges have been laid against two Vancouver men as part of a continuing police crackdown on gang violence in the region.
Twenty-three-year-old Amandeep Deep Manj and 23-year-old Christopher Premjit Barr are accused mostly of weapons charges, including possessing guns and trafficking in them.
Police say even more weapons charges are expected against the men, who were arrested outside their homes Aug. 6.
Vancouver Police Inspector Mike Porteous says police are making impressive progress against gang violence, but they still have a lot more work to do.
The Metro Vancouver region was rocked by about 50 shootings, 21 of them fatal, in the first half of the year.
In April and May, police arrested 11 men they said were members of rival gangs, and laid various charges against them, including conspiracy to commit murder.
