Police are searching for the driver of a pickup that was abandoned after allegedly being used to evade law enforcement across several Metro Vancouver cities overnight.
Few details have been confirmed, but police said they received a report of a truck driving dangerously and that officers pursued the vehicle using the RCMP's Air One helicopter.
The pursuit is believed to have started in Surrey, where the vehicle failed to stop for police on the ground.
It ended around 1 a.m. in Burnaby, outside a condo building on Rosser Avenue near Lougheed Highway, where officers found the pickup abandoned.
Heavily armed police, including members of B.C.’s anti-gang task force, searched the area, but could not locate a suspect.
The truck has been seized pending further investigation.
