Last year, 37-year old Frank Siniscalchi was arrested after using a metal bar to beat and rob women coming from an east Vancouver SkyTrain station.

Adrian Dix, the local Vancouver-Kingsway MLA, says nothing has been done since last January's brutal attacks.

"We've called for, when SkyTrain is in operation, to be a live person with TransLink at the station at all times," he said, adding that person doesn't have to be a police officer.

"Even if these attacks happened off TransLink property, these attacks could have been prevented if security was nearby," he said.

Dix says the provincial government is under-funding security at SkyTrain stations. He is pushing for staff at every single station.

Siniscalchi's family was in attendance at the courthouse, but refused to speak to the media when they left.

Frank Siniscalchi will be sentenced on February 26th.
