There are only four more days to go until Whistler-Blackcomb opens for the season, on November 27.
But there is still a chance the resort could open early.
In the last two days the snow base has more than doubled, from 25 centimeters, to 55 centimeters, thanks in part to the 30 centimeters that fell on Friday, and the resort's snowmakers, who are operating the maximum number of snow guns possible.
At this point Whistler-Blackcomb's senior management are meeting daily, to assess the snow, and determine whether an early opening is possible, despite what many considered a rather warm and dry November.
