CTV British Columbia has received multiple honours for achievement in news, feature, sports and online reporting - winning awards at the regional, national and international levels.
At the regional level, CTV BC was honoured with five Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) Regional Awards (Large Market) at the RTNDA Canada BC Regional Awards Banquet in Vancouver, BC on June 6th.
The awards are:
- Best Newscast for CTV News at Six
- Best Short Feature for Red Devils
- Best Long Feature for B-17 Bomber
- Best Live Special Events Coverage for House of Gold: Opening of the Olympic Oval
- Adrienne Clarkson Award for Diversity for First Story on Taan, Bears of Haida Gwaii
CTV BC has also been honoured with three RTNDA National Awards.
The awards are:
- Best Newscast for CTV News at Six
- Best Short Feature for Red Devils
- Adrienne Clarkson Award for Diversity for First Story on Taan, Bears of Haida Gwaii
At the same banquet on Saturday, CTV BC was also honoured with seven International Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Those awards are:
- Overall Excellence
- Best Newscast for CTV News at Six
- Best Breaking News for Sea to Sky Slide
- Best News Series for Life or Meth
- Best Videography for Pennies from Heaven
- Best Sports Reporting for Afghan Soccer
- Best News Website for Whistler Gondola Crash
In total, CTV British Columbia captured fifteen awards - the highest award achievement in the station's history as well as receiving the RTNDA's honour for Canada's Best Newscast (Large Market) - for the third time in four years.
RTNDA honours the very best in Canadian Radio, Television and New Media journalism with the prestigious Regional and National RTNDA Awards.
Edward R. Murrow Awards have been honouring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism since 1971.
