A helicopter crew has recovered the body of an Alberta skier killed in an avalanche on Sunday in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park in southeast B.C.

However, the weather closed in before seven other rescue technicians and 14 skiers who survived the slide could be taken out, and the group was forced to take refuge in a cabin in the park, north of Nelson.

The name of the dead skier has not been released.

However, officials have released the names of Calgary brothers -- Rob and Mark Glaser -- who were killed in a separate slide over the weekend while back-country skiing in Kananaskis Country, west of Calgary.

Meanwhile, the Trans-Canada through Rogers Pass is open again after being closed by the threat of avalanches, but Highway 1 east of Golden is still closed and may not open until Wednesday.

A slide has also been cleared from Highway 97 between Prince George and Chetwynd in northern B.C.

But several other roads in southeast B.C. remain closed by slides or the threat of avalanches.
