RCMP are recommending charges against a third person in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 16-year-old at a Pitt Meadows rave last month.

Sgt. Peter Thiessen told ctvbc.ca that police have recommended to the Crown that an adult male be charged with distributing child pornography after pictures of the sexual assault were taken and posted on Facebook.

Police are not releasing the man's age and say it could be weeks before he is potentially charged.

A 16-year old has already been charged with production and distribution of child pornography in connection to the incident.

Thiessen said that police also recommended charges against an 18-year-old man who was arrested and released last month.

"We're recommending sexual assault causing bodily harm against the 18-year-old," he said.

Thiessen said the investigation is still very active and encourages anyone with information who has not yet spoken with police to come forward.

Investigators believe as many as 12 people saw the attack on the drugged, teenaged victim.
