Man wounded in Mission, B.C., shooting

One man was injured in a shooting in the Lower Mainland city of Mission Saturday morning, Mounties confirmed.
Police say they responded to the bank of the Fraser River south of Wren Street around 10 a.m., where they found the victim inside a houseboat on the waterfront.
Firefighters and paramedics were seen loading the victim into an air ambulance behind the Mission Rona.
The 57-year-old man’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening, according to police.
“No one else was hurt, and there is no indication that the general public is at risk,” the Mission RCMP wrote in a news release, adding the shooting appears targeted.
Two suspects reportedly fled the scene before first responders arrived, and they have not been found, police said.
The detachment’s serious crime unit, with help from police dogs and forensic identification officers, is investigating.
There’s no description of the suspects, but police asked anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Wren Street south of Lougheed Highway to call the Mission detachment at 604-826-7161.
