Dramatic pictures of two men robbing a Mission, B.C. jewelry store on Monday have been captured on video.

Three employees and one customer were in the Lanka Jewels Ltd. store in downtown Mission when the robbers entered the store at about 3:15 p.m. and immediately began smashing a jewelry case with "medieval" type axes.

They made off with about $350,000 worth of jewelry, according to store owner Nathan Selvaraja.

"The employees were pretty shaken up,'' said Selvaraja, who was out fetching lunch at the time of the robbery.

After telling the employees to lie down on the floor, the thieves were able to drive away in a grey Grandam car before police showed up.

Mission RCMP are now looking into the matter.

Selvaraja said the video film shows two men dressed in black and wearing masks enter the store.

He said the video may also show the suspects smashing the jewelry case.
