Police are asking for help finding a Surrey man who is alleged to have violently assaulted a 73-year-old woman early Sunday morning.
In a news release, Vancouver police say 45-year-old Kenneth Nolan Kirton allegedly entered the home of an elderly relative in the 1500-block of Adanac Street in Vancouver around 3:30 a.m. The woman was stabbed several times before the suspect fled the apartment.
Investigators believe robbery may have been the motive behind the attack.
Kirton is wanted on a warrant for attempted murder and robbery. He is known to police and frequents the Downtown Eastside.
Kirton is aboriginal, 5-5 tall and has a thin build. He has short black hair, brown eyes and a scar on the bridge of his nose. "LOVE" is tattooed on the fingers of his left hand and he was last seen wearing a black jacket.
Police say the elderly woman is recovering from multiple injuries in hospital.
