Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Surrey resident Kacey Rogers, who was shot to death during a home invasion Sunday night.
Rogers was found bleeding and unresponsive in the 14000-block of Grosvenor Road at around 10:30 p.m. following what Mounties describe as a planned burglary that turned deadly.
The 31-year-old victim was not known to police.
On Tuesday, police arrested 21-year-old Russell Bidesi of Surrey and 19-year-old Joshua Martinez of New Westminster.
Bidesi has been charged with first-degree murder and is due in court Thursday, while Martinez has been charged with firearms-related offences and has a court appearance scheduled for Friday.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it worked "around the clock" in cooperation with the New Westminster Police Service and Delta Police Department to secure the arrests.
"We are very pleased to be in a position to make this announcement, only a few days after Kacey's murder," Cpl. Adam MacIntosh said in a release.
Investigators are still exploring any possible gang connection in the shooting.
