Homicide investigators are looking for witnesses after a man was found fatally stabbed in a busy area of Surrey early Friday morning.

Mounties were called to the 10600-block of 135A Street just before 5 a.m. and found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to take conduct of the case, and members are any potential witnesses to come forward.

“We know this area is particularly busy with foot traffic and there may be a number of potential witnesses who could have information,” Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a statement.

Surrey RCMP has cordoned off the area and officers are expected to gather evidence and process the scene throughout Friday.

Anyone with information on the homicide can contact the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448.
