A 24-year-old man has been identified as Vancouver's latest homicide victim.
David Banh was found dead and slumped behind the wheel of a white SUV in the parking lot of a Boston Pizza restaurant on Bentall St. late Saturday night.
Banh is not known to police.
Investigators say Banh's death appears to be targeted, but say the case is still in the early stages.
The shooting came just hours after police announced new charges in the gang execution of six men in a Surrey, B.C., apartment building eighteen months ago. Among those killed were two innocent bystanders.
B.C.'s Lower Mainland has been rocked by a bloody gang war, with dozens of shootings -- and eighteen deaths -- in the past four months, mostly in battles over drug turf.
The continuing violence has prompted a huge public outcry for police to crackdown.
This latest shooting raises the homicide count to 11 in Vancouver this year.
