The latest in Canadian fashion hit the streets of Vancouver, a few months before Canada's Olympic uniforms are seen by billions of people around the world.

When CTV's Alex Blair sported an Olympic outfit on trendy Robson Street, the reaction was mixed.

Some people enjoyed the garment's originality, while others made fun of it, comparing it to pajamas and circus wear.

And while some Vancouverites were unsure of how to react, one thing is for certain - this year's Olympic gear is definitely an eye catcher.

HBC designer Two Lee calls the uniforms a fusion of East and West. The number eight, considered lucky in China, is all over the clothing.

The team's official supplier, the Hudson's Bay Company, on Wednesday unveiled the designer duds to be worn by Canada's athletes during this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing. About 80 per cent of the uniforms will be made in China, and that number goes up to 90 per cent for Olympic wear sold to the public.
