Langley RCMP seized more than $1 million worth of ecstasy after a man was found hiding in a ditch near the border on Tuesday night.
Cpl. Holly Marks said police received a tip from the U.S. Border Patrol Services at around 9:00 p.m. about a suspicious male in the 27200-block of 0 Avenue.
Police chased down the man by air and on the ground with Police Dog Services and arrested him.
Marks said the man, a 30-year-old Mexican citizen, was carrying two large duffel bags filled with 20 kilograms of ecstasy.
Samuel Lopez-Rios has been charged with drug trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused remains in custody and will appear in court on Sept. 27.
