Gang member charged in diamond theft case
A member of a notorious drug gang has been charged with the five year old murder of 38-year-old Marc Rozen, who was beaten and shot to death after placing an ad in a local newspaper to sell an engagement ring on Jan. 6, 2004. Vancouver police believe he was killed during a robbery attempt.
Police have laid charges against Michael Bruce Newman, a man investigators allege is a member of the UN gang.
Newman is charged with second degree murder.
The case gained international attention after Rozen's parents, Jack and Doreen, enlisted the help of "America's Most Wanted" television show two years ago.
Jack Rozen told CTV News he is pleased, but still hopes investigators can track down two more suspects police believe were in Rozen's West End apartment when he was killed.
