Five years later, friends and family haven’t given up hope in finding Lindsay Buziak’s murderers.
The realtor was brutally murdered in 2008 inside a suburban Saanich home. The killers, allegedly a man and a woman, posed as her clients, even using a cell phone listed under a false name to lure her to the home.
It’s the third year in a row Jeff Buziak, Lindsay’s father, has held the Lindsay Buziak walk for justice, hoping the publicity will help catch the people who killed his daughter.
“I have to just look now that this case will be solved and try and get away from a timeline of that,” he said. “Just march forward with the determination that it’s going to happen. There is no other option, the light has to win over the dark.”
No charges have been laid in the murder, and police say very few clues were left behind at the scene of the crime.
“Depending on the level of sophistication of the people involved in those types of crimes, it can be very difficult to drill down to find out who’s planned that and why they planned that,” said Scott Green, a Saanich Police Inspector.
The march wound its way through residential neighbourhoods and past the house where Lindsay was killed.
“My daughter was executed here,” Buziak said. “We have to find out who did that, and we’re going to…We’re going to continue this walk until this murder is solved.”
