The RCMP say two young men driving souped up cars were caught racing on the Trans-Canada Highway in Vancouver on Thanksgiving Day.
They say the drivers -- aged 21 and 22 -- were pulled over after their Infiniti G-37 and Honda Accord were spotted jockeying for position and passing other traffic at speeds of 139 kilometres an hour in a 70-kilometre zone through the Cassier Tunnel.
The drivers each got $483 speeding tickets, were handed immediate 15-day licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.
Police say the two vehicles were among 43 to be impounded by the RCMP for excessive speeding in the Metro Vancouver area over the Thanksgiving weekend.
