A beluga whale suffering from an unknown illness at the Vancouver Aquarium is showing signs of recovery.
The aquarium says on its Twitter account that Aurora the whale is “looking brighter” and was more interactive with staff on Saturday.
Veterinarians and staff were scrambling to figure out what was ailing the beluga after its offspring Qila died earlier in the week.
Aquarium staff are continuing to keep a close eye on the surviving beluga and are running more tests to figure out what was wrong.
Aurora is looking brighter and little more interactive today. Our team is working intensively with her + performing additional diagnostics. pic.twitter.com/akzgGY1PXz
