The Mountie who arrested the man accused of killing his three children in Merritt has testified he was shocked by the large cuts he saw on Allan Schoenborn's arms.
Cpl. Jason Smart apprehended Schoenborn 10 days after the suspect's two young sons and daughter were found slain in their home in April of last year.
Smart told Schoenborn's B.C. Supreme Court murder trial in Kamloops that he was concerned Schoenborn wasn't going to survive the wounds.
Evidence presented earlier at the trial suggested Schoenborn tried to kill himself after his children died.
Smart says when he was telling Schoenborn to hold on because the ambulance was close, Schoenborn said he couldn't hear the sirens but he could hear the coyotes, although there were no coyotes.
