Transit police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who sexually assaulted a 29-year-old female Japanese exchange student at Gateway SkyTrain Station in September.
Police say on Sept. 6 at 10:15 a.m. the suspect was helping the woman purchase a ticket when he forced himself on her, repeatedly kissing and hugging her.
The woman was able to push him away and board a train.
The suspect was caught on video leaving the station on foot.
He is described as a balding Caucasian man in his late 50s, six-feet-tall and 170 lbs. He was clean shaven, wearing beige pants, possibly a green shirt with brown jacket, brown shoes and carrying a brief case.
Transit police say the woman didn’t report the incident right away, but her host family encouraged her to come forward.
Police are encouraging the public to view the video and anyone with information is asked to report it to 604-515-8300.
