The victim of a fatal stabbing in Surrey this week has been identified as a 17-year-old boy.

Mounties found Jaylen Sandhu suffering from multiple stab wounds after being called to the 16300-block of 88th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

The teenager was rushed to hospital but couldn’t be saved. The RCMP said his next of kin has been notified.

On Friday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed it has taken conduct of the case from Surrey Mounties.

The suspect remain on the loose.
