A dog was reunited with its owner after being rescued from a steep cliff in the Village of Belcarra.
Max, a Shetland sheepdog, fell off the cliff in the village northwest of Port Moody sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The 10-year-old dog was found early Thursday approximately six metres (20 feet) down from the top of the cliff.
Max's owner called the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department, a group that serves the villages of Anmore and Belcarra, but the crew did not have equipment to make the high-angle rescue.
So three Port Moody firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and used a longline to reach the stranded canine.
Max was hauled to safety, and reunited with his owner.
