A police standoff sparked by reports that an armed man was holed up in a home in South Vancouver has ended with an arrest.
Emergency Response Team members surrounded a home on Fraser Street near 63rd Avenue for hours early Tuesday morning before a man inside gave himself up peacefully at around 7:30 a.m.
The man was unarmed and officers did not find weapons inside the home. There is no information yet on what the dispute was about.
Police closed a stretch of Fraser Street during the standoff as a precaution, but the busy commuter route was reopened before 8 a.m.
