An email to Canucks staff and corporate partners offering half-price Stanley Cup playoff tickets has been leaked, and CTV News has the details.
The ticket deal is only accessible using a designated web link and password that were sent to Canucks employees along with a message encouraging them to spread the love.
“Distribute the code as well if you know of any die-hard Canucks fans,” the email reads.
The discount applies to lower-bowl seats for the first two home games against the San Jose Sharks, decreasing some of the regularly $300 tickets to as low as $130.
They are available here for Game 1 and Game 2 using the password “ROUND1STAFF.”
Canucks Sports & Entertainment issued a statement Tuesday describing the deal as "an extension of select corporate partnerships and a staff benefit program providing access to a limited number of tickets."
The 50 per cent discount is yet another sign of sluggish ticket sales for the Canucks’ first playoff round. Large sections of Rogers Arena remained available on the Ticketmaster website Tuesday afternoon, and some sellers have started offering tickets below cost due to lack of interest.
Last week it was revealed that Canucks playoff tickets were the most expensive of any Canadian team, with prices surging up to $450 for a single lower-bowl ticket.
