Wayne Roberts is from the Raven Clan. His First Nation name is Tanu. Roberts is proud to be from the Haida, Tsimshian and Co-Salish Nations. Wayne studied at Columbia Academy for Broadcasting Arts/Journalism and continued his studies at Capilano University for Film and Television Production.
Roberts is thrilled to re-join CTV First Story in 2012.
Roberts started his career as a Classic Rock DJ at CFNR in Terrace BC. Wayne worked with CBC Radio One in Prince George BC. Roberts has worked with APTN National News as a Video Journalist in Toronto and Vancouver.
For over five years Wayne takes pride in telling First Nations, Métis and Inuit stories. Wayne has travelled to several Aboriginal and remote communities across Canada to get the heart of the story. As a CTV documentary story teller Wayne has covered the Mohawk Iron workers who built New York’s skyline. Roberts also has been on top of the controversial Enbridge pipeline and oil-tankers.
As a reporter Wayne covered the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver BC. Wayne has reported on several stories on the Missing Aboriginal Women in Canada and the Missing Women’s Inquiry of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside extensively. Roberts has a niche to tell political stories and enjoys covering sports from Aboriginal NHL superstars to First Nations NASCAR drivers and Aboriginal Olympians. Roberts enjoys covering First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and entertainers across the country.
Roberts has a talent for film and television production. His hobbies include playing golf, ice-hockey and writing feature films.
