Police have released troubling new video of a Vancouver woman who vanished from a downtown Los Angeles hotel two weeks ago.
In what appears to be surveillance footage from an elevator, 21-year-old Elisa Lam is shown on the last night she was seen – Jan. 31.
She appears to be acting strangely around the elevator of the Cecil Hotel where she was staying, pressing several buttons, pausing, and then stepping back into the hallway.
The UBC student was traveling alone in California when she went missing.
Her reason for going to California is unclear, but authorities say Lam intended to travel to Santa Cruz as her final destination, which is about 563 kilometres north of Los Angeles.
Police suspect foul play in her disappearance.
