A violent home invasion in an upscale Vancouver neighbourhood ended swiftly Tuesday, when police arrived in time to confront four masked men as they were running out of the house.

The incident began when police responded to a 911 call from someone who had seen a suspicious vehicle in the area of Dogwood Street, and West 52nd Street in the south Granville area.

Two of the men were arrested immediately and two attempted to ran away. With the assistance of a Vancouver Police Department dog unit and a police helicopter, these men were also taken into custody a short time later.

VPD Major Crime Robbery Section is now investigating this incident as a violent home invasion.

The residents in the home were unharmed and all suspects are in custody in what appears to be a targeted incident.

Any further updates will be provided on Wednesday said VPD spokesperson Const. Jana McGuinness.
