The death toll in Metro Vancouver's relentless string of shootings has grown.
A man who was found shot in the head in a home in Surrey more than two weeks ago has died of his injuries in hospital.
Police could not identify him at first and released pictures of his distinctive tattoos in the hopes someone knew the man.
The family of 27-year-old Steven Dodd of Surrey eventually came forward to identify him shortly before he died March 6.
Dodd's death brings the number of fatalities to 15 in 33 separate shootings that have jolted the Lower Mainland since January.
Vancouver's police chief has said the area is in the middle of a "brutal" gang war.
