A cyclist has died in hospital after being hit by a sports utility vehicle in Surrey.
RCMP say a Ford Escape was driving near 108th Ave. and 142nd St. when it struck a man on his bicycle just after 10 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was thrown from his bike and seriously hurt. Paramedics at the scene performed CPR but he later died of his injuries in hospital.
Mounties say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed and alcohol don't appear to be involved in the collision, which heavily damaged the front-end of the vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
