International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge arrived in Vancouver on Monday night to meet with the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee, amidst a fresh wave of controversy surrounding women's ski jumping.

The NDP introduced a motion in the House of Commons and the B.C. legislature on Monday demanding the 2010 Olympics include the sport. They argue taxpayer money was spent on facilities that will discriminate against women.

Rogge is expected to do an inspection tour of Olympic facilities in Vancouver.

Groups advocating women's ski jumping be allowed in the games purchased two billboards which were erected near the VANOC offices and the Arthur Laing Bridge.

The signs read "Just imagine -- implementing the principle of equality of men and women. Let women ski jump in 2010."

They also led a rally downtown Vancouver on Sunday and maintain an online petition garnering increasing support.

"How can the minister and his government take money from women and allow the IOC to put a no women allowed sign on that facility," said NDP Olympic critic Harry Bains.

Minister of Economic Development Colin Hansen says the government supports the women ski jumpers.

"We have been fully in support of women's ski jumping," he said. "We have made that known ... and we have urged the IOC to reconsider their decision."
