Clay Roueche, the alleged leader of a powerful British Columbia gang, appeared before a Federal Court in Seattle Thursday, almost two weeks after he was arrested in Texas.
Roueche, the alleged head of the United Nations, faces a number of charges. They are conspiracy to possess cocaine, conspiracy to import marijuana, and conspiracy to engage in money laundering.
On Thursday, he entered a plea of not guilty on all of the charges.
Roueche was arrested in May 19 when he was refused entry into Mexico and put on a plane to Canada that stopped in Dallas. His American lawyer says he plans to contact the Canadian government.
"It seems to be another incident of a Canadian citizen lawfully going from one place to another, and being somehow rerouted to meet the wishes of the United States government," said his defence attorney Irwin Schwartz.
Roueche's next date in court will be next Tuesday, when he is expected to attend a bail hearing.
