A former teenaged Olympian is seeking the public's assistance in finding her valuable Olympic ring.
Lisa Borsholt, who competed as a 14-year-old in the 1976 Montreal Olympics in the 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, said she took the ring off on May 19 and has not seen it since.
A spokesperson from the North Vancouver RCMP says the Olympian removed the ring when she was gardening and doesn't know where they went.
"Perhaps she put them down somewhere," says Const. Marlene Morton. "She could have gone into the front yard, and someone just came into the area she was working and just took them."
The longtime North Vancouver resident also competed in the 1984 Los Angles Olympics when she was 22 in the 100-metre breaststroke.
The ring is described as being made from 10k gold, topped with the five interlinked Olympic rings and stamped on the inside with "76 & 84".
Anyone with information should contact Const. Samonekeo with the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
