The parents of missing Burnaby man Kellen McElwee have doubled the reward money for information leading his whereabouts from $50,000 to $100,000.

It has been just over a year since 25-year-old McElwee disappeared after having dinner with friends in a Keg restaurant in Langley.

He left the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. on March 19, 2008, in a grey Honda Civic. His car was found abandoned six days later in the 5100 block of Halifax Street, in Burnaby.

"Somebody out there has the information that we need and I personally am desperate.  I'm stuck in 2008, March the 19th.  I need to find our son." said Paula McElwee, Kellen's mother.

The missing man is described as five feet, 10 inches tall and 220 pounds, with dirty blonde hair styled in a slight Mohawk.

Police say that foul play may have caused McElwee's disappearance.

Anyone with information leading to the missing man or his remains can call Crimestoppers and leave an anonymous tip at 1-800-222-TIPS.
