Vancouver police are reopening their investigation into the overdose death of a 15-year-old girl after receiving new information in the case.
Adriana Falcon died Sept. 16 after she was found unresponsive in a rooming house in the West End neighourhood.
Toxicology tests revealed a fatal mix of methamphetamines and heroin in her system, according to her family.
Police turned the file over to the BC Coroners Service, but on Tuesday confirmed they were reversing course.
“While the girl’s death does not appear suspicious in nature, information received by police and the Coroners Service have led detectives to re-open the investigation,” the department said in a press release.
No further details have been released and police declined to comment Tuesday afternoon.
Last week, Falcon’s parents started a Facebook group called Justice for Adriana, where they blame an adult drug dealer for their daughter’s death.
