A man was found dead inside a home in Surrey Friday morning, marking the third apparent homicide this week in the city.

Mounties were called to a home in the 2400-block of 156 Street around 10 a.m. and found the man's body inside. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took conduct of the case shortly after.

Police aren’t commenting on the cause of death but said the man appears to have met with foul play. IHIT Is also withholding the name and age of the deceased.

Neighbours said there are a few empty houses sometimes inhabited by squatters on the street, but couldn’t say whether the body was found in one of them.

The killing came one day after another homicide in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood, where Mandeepak Chahal was found critically injured after residents reported hearing a noisy fight.

The 22-year-old, who is not known to police, was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police said his death was not gang or drug-related.

On Monday, 33-year-old Shaunce Poirier was found near-dead in front of an apartment complex in the Whalley neighbourhood, about two blocks from the Gateway SkyTrain Station.

Poirier was also known to police and investigators believe his murder was targeted.
