A small plane and three people onboard have been found near Whistler, a day after being reported missing.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Victoria confirmed Monday evening that the plane had been located, and that its pilot and passengers were alive.
Snowmobilers found the plane on a glacier in Pemberton ice field, officials told CTV News.
The passengers and crew were brought to Whistler, where they were treated for dehydration. They have since returned to the Vancouver area.
The single engine plane took off from Pitt Meadows Airport Sunday morning en route to Pemberton, and was reported missing when it didn't return by midday.
A search was launched Sunday night with aircraft from CFB Comox, but there has been no sign of the plane. The search resumed Monday morning, with two Buffalo CC-115 planes and two CH-149 Cormorant helicopters circling overhead.
The plane is a 1963 Beechcraft Musketeer, an aircraft that often flew out of the airport.
The airport said the flight to Pemberton would be standard for that type of small craft, and that conditions were good on Sunday.
