Police are investigating after a white sedan plowed through the windows of a Surrey Starbucks on Wednesday afternoon.

One person was taken to hospital as a result of the crash, which happened at 104th Avenue and King George Boulevard.

RCMP say a man who was sitting outside the Starbucks suffered a non-life-threatening leg injury when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver appears to be fine.

"The lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. No other injuries were reported," said Cpl. Scotty Schumann.

The collision scattered glass onto the sidewalk and scattered patio furniture.

A large area was roped off with police tape while Surrey RCMP and fire officials investigated.

Mounties at the scene told CTV News the crash appears to be an accident and it's not pursuing charges against the driver.

"Initial indications are that this incident may be related to driver error, however, the investigation is still continuing," said Schumann.

The car was pulled from the building and the broken windows were expected to be boarded later in the afternoon.
