An accident on the Sea to Sky Highway between Squamish and Whistler has claimed a life. It happened at 4:45 p.m. on Highway 99 just south of Culliton Creek in an area more commonly referred to as the "Big Orange Bridge".
The crash involved three vehicles, a north bound limousine and a north bound passenger vehicle and a south bound School Bus. Squamish RCMP, Squamish Fire Rescue and B.C. Ambulance service responded, the collision has temporarily shutdown Highway 99.
Police have confirmed one person has been killed and there were several injuries involving passengers in the limousine and the passenger vehicle. The driver and all students on the school bus are reported to be uninjured and arrangements are being made to find alternate transport for them.
North bound traffic is presently being turned around at Highway 99 and Alice Lake to alleviate congestion in the area.
